Port Shorts Film Festival recognises and deeply values the ongoing, rich cultural legacy of our Traditional Owners, and in 2019, is excited to launch a new initiative that celebrates the talents, stories and identities of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. In this spirit, emerging young Kuku Yalanji artists will join with Dhoebaw musician of the Guda Malullgal Torres Strait Islander Nations, Patrick Mau Power and Torres Strait Islander – Samoan filmmaker S.F. ‘Sio’ Tusa, to record music at Central Queensland University Cairns with Associate Lecturer, Patty Preece and local artist, Shannon Hunter.
