The aim of this short film was to expose the diverse underwater
life to more people to enjoy and hopefully raise the collective
awareness to the delicate balance that needs to be preserved to
conserve this wonderful asset.

Lee Dilkes has lived in and around Port Douglas for
the past couple of decades & has always marvelled at the intrinsic
and complex beauty of this ancient eco system.
His involvement in the underwater world started at 13 when he learnt
to dive& snorkel in the waters around Sydneys northern
beaches & then was coerced into the proffesional world of diving,
by a good friend Victoria Hunt of Discover Diver, in early 2003.
He then went to James Cook University in 2004 to learn underwater
imaging, with Peter Kennedy, Richard Fitzpatrick & Kevin Deacon.
The last couple of years he has worked on day boats & an extended
dive charterer boat as photo & video pro.
He is currently cooking in a local restaurant at night & taking
photos on a local day boat during the day as well working on a documentary
exploring & identifying, the social & cultural issues &
needs of youth within the Douglas Shire.
